Key Truth: Pursuing God’s heart will require perseverance. The barriers we face are not signs to stop. They are green lights to press closer to Jesus with faith, courage and unwavering devotion.
Scripture Anchors:

Mark 14:3-9
Hebrews 12:1
James 1:12
Consider This: You can overcome the barriers that attempt to block you in pursuing God’s heart. The question is, are we willing to persevere through them?
In Mark 14:3, the woman with the alabaster box did. She faced social pressure, gave something costly when she broke the bottle and endured criticism without retreating. She kept moving toward Jesus anyway.
Today, those barriers may not look like a crowded room, but they feel just as real. Fear that chokes our faith in what used to be a simple task now feels heavy. The weight of praying for your children while wondering if you are getting it right. The quiet battles with mental health, reconciliation and the desire to remain in God’s will.
Girlfriend, pursuing God’s heart in this season might look like choosing prayer when procrastination whispers louder. It might be taking one faithful step when your emotions feel unsteady. It might be trusting God with your children, your healing and your future even when clarity has not fully arrived.
The woman did not wait for perfect conditions. She brought what she had, pressed past the barriers and focused on Jesus. You can do the same. Every act of perseverance becomes an offering that draws you closer to God’s heart.
Reflection Questions:
What barrier has been discouraging me from pursuing God’s heart fully?
Have I allowed fear of people’s opinions to influence my obedience?
What would perseverance look like for me in this season?
Application:Â
Identify one barrier you have been facing and name it honestly before God.
This week, take one step that reflects perseverance. It may be praying when you feel weary, worshiping when you feel misunderstood or choosing obedience when it feels costly.
Write Mark 14:3 somewhere visible as a reminder that devotion moves forward, even when barriers appear.
Prayer:Â
God, thank You for calling us to pursue Your heart with perseverance. Strengthen us when barriers arise and remind us that You see every act of devotion. Give us courage to move past fear, release what feels costly and remain steady even when we are misunderstood. Teach us to fix our eyes on Jesus and trust that You will defend what we surrender to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Closing Declaration: I pursue God’s heart with perseverance. No barrier will silence my devotion. Jesus is my focus and my defender. I Am Covered.
