Nurture the Promise: Don’t Drop What God Gave You

Key Truth: What God placed in you is so priceless, that it deserves your attention, obedience and care. You cannot expect purpose to grow if you neglect what Heaven entrusted to you.

Scripture Anchor:

1 Thessalonians 2:7-8

Luke 1:45

Galatians 6:9

Consider This: Girlfriend, nurturing is more than motherhood; it is stewardship (faithfully managing, protecting and caring for what has been entrusted to you).

Every woman is carrying something. A calling. A dream. A burden. A business. A ministry. A healing journey. A next step of obedience. The question is not whether God placed something in you. The question is whether you are caring for it well.

We often pray for increase while neglecting what we already have. We ask God for bigger opportunities while refusing to consistently nurture the seed He already planted. Healthy things grow where there is intentional care.

A mother understands this naturally. She feeds what she loves, protects what she carries and makes room for what matters. In the same way, your spiritual momentum will require attention and discipline (I may or may not be speaking to myself with this devotion, but just keep reading as if it is for you or someone you know). You cannot keep starving your purpose and expect it to flourish.

Some women have dropped promises because life became heavy. Others became distracted. Some became discouraged because growth did not happen quickly or simply grew numb while waiting. But God did not give you that vision, assignment or desire for you to abandon it while you were "in the meantime".

Momentum in this season means returning to what God spoke and nurturing it again.

Pray over it again. Ask Him again. Work on it again. Believe again. Protect your time again. Show up again.

Girlfriend, don’t drop what God gave you - ask HIm to propel you to pursue Him again.

Reflection Questions:

  • What has God placed in my heart that I have neglected or delayed?

  • What practical changes do I need to make to better nurture what God entrusted to me?

  • Have discouragement or distractions caused me to mishandle my momentum?

Application:

Choose one thing God has placed in your hands and intentionally nurture it this week. Set aside time to pray over it, work on it, protect it or take one practical step forward. Momentum grows when we consistently care for what God entrusted to us.

Prayer: Father, thank You for every promise, gift, and assignment You have placed in me. Forgive me for neglecting what You called me to steward. Strengthen me through the Holy Spirit to nurture what You placed in my hands with wisdom, consistency and faith. Help me remain faithful even when growth feels slow. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Closing Declaration: I will not abandon what God placed inside of me. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, I have the strength, discipline, wisdom and grace to nurture every God-given promise. What Heaven started in me will grow, flourish and produce fruit for God’s glory.
