Scripture Anchor:
Luke 24:1-8
Girlfriends, let’s be real for a moment:
They showed up grieving.
They showed up disappointed.
They showed up expecting to tend to what was dead.
Not one of them came looking for a miracle.
Luke 24 shows us something powerful. The women came with spices to anoint Jesus’ body, but instead, they encountered an empty tomb and a living Savior. What they expected did not match what God had already done.
“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen.” (Luke 24:5-6)
Ladies, how often have we done the same?
We revisit what didn’t work.
We sit in what hurt us.
We prepare for endings God has already redeemed, but resurrection requires a shift!
You cannot pursue a resurrected life while holding onto a dead expectation. God is not limited by what disappointed you. He is not confined to how things looked when it fell apart. The same place that held your disappointment may be the very place God reveals His power.
Key Truth: Disappointment is not the end of your story. It is often the doorway to deeper faith.
Consider This: The women did not receive a new miracle. Jesus had already risen. The victory was already complete before they arrived. What they needed was not another move of God, but the ability to see what He had already done.
Sometimes we are asking God to change something He has already touched. We pray for movement, while He is offering revelation. We look for answers, while He is shifting our perspective.
The women came expecting death, but they were standing in resurrection. Their situation had already changed, but their understanding had not caught up yet.
That is where many of us are. Sometimes God is not changing your situation. He is calling you to see it differently. Not to deny the pain, but to look beyond it. Not to ignore what happened, but to recognize what He is doing now.
“Why do you look for the living among the dead?” (Luke 24:5)
Girlfriends, what if the thing you think is over, God has already resurrected in a way you have not yet recognized? Ask Him to open your eyes. A new perspective could reveal that your breakthrough has already begun.
Reflection Question: Where have you stopped believing because things didn’t go the way you expected?
Application:
Be honest with God about your disappointment. He can handle it.
Return to what God already said. His Word is still true.
Choose to believe again, even when it feels risky.
Take one faith-filled step forward, even if your feelings haven’t caught up.
Prayer: Lord, heal my disappointment and restore my faith. You see every place where I expected one outcome and received another. Help me to trust You beyond what I feel. Remind me of what You have already spoken and give me the courage to believe again. I release what didn’t happen the way I thought and I receive what You are doing now. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Closing Declaration: I will not stay stuck in disappointment. I choose to pursue bold faith. I believe again because Jesus is alive.
