Known, Not Just Noticed
Key Truth: Godly fellowship moves beyond knowing your name to making room for your truth.
Scripture Anchor:
1 Thessalonians 5:11
1 John 1:7
Consider This: Hello there Ladies! Isn't it interesting that people can recognize our face and still have no idea what we're facing or vice versa? I mean, we can attend the same service, sit in the same row, and exchange the same “I’m good!” pleasantries while quietly struggling.
What I have found out is that being present is just the beginning of fellowship. Being known requires an opening. John connects fellowship with walking in the light. That means living honestly before God instead of hiding behind appearances. Our relationships deepen when we stop pretending we have everything together, too.
It's my prayer that this month, we will look for a woman whose life shows kindness, consistency, discretion, and a love for God. Someone who we can be ourselves and not have to "skirt around" issues with, like Rayetta's Girlfriend told her (you had to be on Thursday's prayer call to get that). We understand that trust grows through what people practice, not just what they promise. So simply taking one small step toward honesty can open true fellowship.
I am grateful for the GIrlfriends that have allowed me to say, “I’ve had a hard week.”“Could you pray with me?”“Can we make time to talk?” It shown me that, "I can love God deeply and still need someone beside me." Give it a chance this week and watch how God begins to do a great work in both of your lives - we need each other!
Reflection Questions:
Where have I been saying “I’m fine” when I need support?
Who has demonstrated that she can handle my honesty with care?
Application:
Practice one woman, one truth, one invitation. Reach out to a trustworthy woman, share one honest thing, and invite her to connect this week. If no one comes to mind, ask a ministry leader to help you begin.
Prayer: Father, help me come out of hiding and pursue relationships rooted in You. Give me wisdom about whom to trust and courage to be honest. Teach me to make room for another woman’s truth, too. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Closing Declaration: I can be honest about my needs. With God’s wisdom, I will take a step toward being known.
