Pursue God Intentionally

Key Truth: Pursuing God is not something we fit into our schedules. Pursuing God must become the priority that shapes our schedules because God has always been pursuing us. Our pursuit is simply our response to His invitation.

Consider This: As the conference approaches, it's easy to focus on packing, travel plans, outfits and schedules. While those things matter, don't let the preparation for the conference become greater than your preparation to encounter God.

God is not just waiting for you in the hotel ballroom. He's inviting you to meet Him today.

Reflection Questions:

• What has been competing for my attention lately?

• Am I pursuing God with the same passion that I pursue my responsibilities?

• What would it look like to seek Him first every day this week?

Application: 

Set aside at least fifteen uninterrupted minutes each day this week to seek God. Turn off distractions, open your Bible, worship, pray and simply sit in His presence. Prepare your heart before you prepare your suitcase.

Prayer: Father, thank You for inviting me into a relationship with You. Forgive me for the moments I've allowed life's demands to crowd out time with You. Create in me a hunger that cannot be satisfied by anything except Your presence. As I prepare for the Pursue Conference, prepare my heart even more than my plans. I don't just want to attend another event. I want to encounter You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Closing Declaration: I choose to pursue God's presence above everything else. My heart is open, my spirit is expectant and I believe He will meet me as I seek Him.
